Vintage Majorette treasure
Everyone has heard those stories of people ‘who know someone’ who finds this incredible vintage die cast cars treasure, all mint in box, like they have been in a time machine travel.
Well, this time I have such a story to tell. On a Dutch trading website I noticed someone who put up MIB Majorette cars from the early ‘70-s once a few weeks. After the fourth Majorette (MIB again), I contacted him if he had more available. His reply was amazing: yes, I have 11 left, all mint in mint box… Who… An appointment was quickly made and that evening I travelled only 10 km’s from my hometown to discover this treasure…

Only to find out these models all were too young for my personal collection (I only collect till the ‘click in’ hubcaps, not the younger wheel versions) and the colors did not fit into my collection. Almost all cars are metallic!
But then, 11 mint in box vintage Majorette cars in one haul… I am sure it will be years again I can tell such a story again!

Norev in 1/87
Norev is active in many scales, including 1/87. In this particular scale they make model cars for over 40 years already. From these old model cars, they have made reissues with the same quality level as ‘back then’. If you are into nostalgia, these models are a must have!
Besides these reissues, Norev also releases new models in this series. Most common are the French manufacturers. The quality has improved over the years and this is reflected in the models, but the drawback is the current models lack the charm found on the older models. The old models are made from die cast metal, while the new releases are completely made of plastic.
At Tiny Toy Cars we have added over 40 models to our assortment, both old reissues as new issues. With a very friendly introduction price! Click for the complete Norev 1/87 assortment at Tiny Toy Cars.
Citroen Mehari and Citroen Sahara
Renault R16 and Saviem bus
Peugeot 407 Coupe and Renault Clio
Solido Renault 5 Alpine
Another favourite out of my youth. Although I must admit, that when I was young this car had much less appeal than nowadays. It must be my age, I guess… The model by Solido is a very realistic model car representing the real 1:1 example very well. I shoud know, because an old neighbour used to have such an early Renault 5 and I cleaned that car each week for a couple of years. This particular model car is very attractive in this colors, tampo print (no decals) and the ’standard’ red wheels.
Norev Originales (Repro’s)
No, no retro… although… Reproductions made by Norev (Originales) from their first model cars released originally in the 50’s! I think these are very cool, mainly because of the accompanying cardboard box. If these were 1/64 scale, I’d buy them all, but these are scale 1/43. The price is very, very reasonable with E 13,95 (E 11,72 ex VAT) at Tiny Toy Cars. The bodies are made of plastic and except for the cabrio, they do not feature interiors or windows. They do have beautiful wheels & tires, metal axles and a tin base with NOREV and model name engraved. Even the paper ‘flaps’, wrapped around the front axle and peeking through the front windshield, were added! The cardboard box is in full style by not having a barcode or whatsoever!
Enjoy these classics with me!

Norev Mini Jet Renault Megane 2009
Renault is pretty busy chasing Norev to produce toy cars for their ‘Renault Toys’ line of model cars. We, as collectors, refer to them as Mini Jet. The latest release is the Megane Grand Tour, or in normal words, station. There are three versions, red, green and police trim.
The second new Megane release is a really sporty version, being the Trophy. A DTM alike mid-engine racing car that only resembles the Megane by looks as I doubt any part of the regular model fits on this Trophy version. Available in yellow and orange (nice!).

Norev Jet Car
Another new revival at Norev! The Jet Cars are back! If you don’t know them: Mini Jet modelcars but then in schale 1/43. Very nice! And for Mini Jet prices! If you want your nephew, nice, son, daughter, grandchild off the 3 Inch modelcars, this is your answer. It will give playing value in the 1/43 model car scale!

Norev Mini Jet Racing
An already existing, but really nice, series by Norev is their Mini Jet Racing. Each modelcar in this series is based upon an existing racing car. This release has been available in France for a while now and contains WTCC racing cars, rallye cars, racing cars, Le Mans racing cars, Dakar rallye cars, etc.
